Important Information Regarding Refugee Admissions Program
Due to the recent issuance of Executive Order 14163, the U.S. government has temporarily paused the processing of all refugee applications under the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). This includes travel eligibility determinations for following-to-join refugees (FTJ-Rs) currently being processed at consular posts and embassies abroad. We understand this is concerning, and we want to provide guidance.
FTJ-R beneficiaries whose cases are with a U.S. embassy or consulate should contact that specific embassy or consulate directly. They can inquire about the status of their travel eligibility interviews and receive instructions for passport retrieval, if needed.
For FTJ-R beneficiaries whose cases are currently at the National Visa Center (NVC), please use this Public Inquiry Form to contact them.
The Department will be in touch with individuals regarding further steps in their cases at a later time. FTJ-R beneficiaries possessing unexpired boarding foils should contact U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for information about entering the United States.
